About Us
I have opened Antelope Montessori Preschool after several years of teaching in both a traditional preschool environment and then in a Montessori classroom. I have 15 Early Childhood Education units and my Montessori Credential from North American Montessori Training Center. I am licensed by the State of California (SAC55387), so I have my CPR and First Aid and Health and Safety training. I have references available as well. I have been married for 22 years to my husband, Dan, and we have two children, Ben who is 19 and in college, and Micah who is 15 and in high school.
I believe that a safe environment allows children to learn, explore and grow, so safety is key at AMP, both inside the classroom and outside in our play area.
I believe that children benefit from hands-on learning experiences, so everything in my classroom is ready for children to explore.
I believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem, so only positive discipline is used whenever necessary.
At Antelope Montessori Preschool, I make sure that every child is involved in stimulating activities every day. And of course, I make sure they have fun because children learn best when they are having fun!
