ANTELOPE MONTESSORI PRESCHOOL is a small independently owned and operated preschool in Antelope, California.  I follow the Montessori method of teaching young children ages 3 to 5 years old.  I offer morning preschool from 8:30 to 12:30, Monday through Friday.  Classes begin September and continue through May. 

My classroom is a child-centered environment that reflects beauty, simplicity, and order, and provides materials and activities that are uniquely purposeful.  

What is Montessori?  Montessori education is a method of educating young children that stresses development of a child's own initiative and natural abilities.  Montessori teachers believe that the lessons should fit each child instead of the child fitting into the lesson plans.  The classroom is referred to as a 'prepared environment' and it provides daily opportunities for the child to choose a wide range of tasks, with each one fostering the child's growing abilities to concentrate, focus, organize and understand the materials.  Confidence, independence and a love for learning are a natural result of time spent in a Montessori program.  Within this ideal learning environment kindergarten readiness is our daily goal.  Children learn their alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, how to write their name!
